The idea of Historian has been born as a solo project during the black metal contest of the metal-archives musicians forum.
In 2013 the first EP was recorded.
In 2017 the idea of Historian to become a band and to play on live “forced” Nikolay Velev to search for musicians and shortly after that the line up has been completed, including members of Inspell, Axecutor, hereAndNow and PAG.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!!

The first ten seconds of this album really set the mood and tone and the awesomeness just keeps on amplifying from there. And by 0:50 I can no longer hold in the exhilaration and explode into screams of joy. Such magnificence is why I'm somehow still able to hold onto the will to live.
